As everyone gathered in the dining room that evening, John, as it was Bill's birthday, announced:
- Guys, I have two announcements. One, it's my husband's birthday. And I want to invite him on this stage.
Hiro, red as a tomato, climbed on stage, got gifts from his husband, Blizzard, D.J., and stepfather, and went downstairs to his seat, deep in his heart rejoicing that he had such a loving family. D.J. wanted to get off the stage, too, but the bear took him by the paw.
- Wait.
The cook turned around.
- Johnny? What's up?
John brought Barrel up to his friend.
- Dee, Barrel has something to tell you.
Wolf nodded and pulled a box out of his pocket. Getting down on one knee, he said:
- Dee, I've been wanting to tell you for a long time... Marry me! I will be the most faithful husband! Will you agree to marry me?
And he handed the bear a box. Dee opened it and looked at the wolf with tenderness.
- Of course I will marry you, Barrel. I love you too.
And they embraced, kissing each other while they were all applauded. John, meanwhile, cast all three votes for his father-in-law. "You may not win, but I still won't cheat!" thought the bear to himself.
