This is one of those images that just struck me out of the blue. Having been talking to my buddy NO-Body-The-Dragon a lot lately, I recall a few ideas he shared with me about potential story arcs for his characters. One of the ideas dealt with Shade and Nadie taking on the world together--Nadie serving as sort of a guardian figure, showing Shade the ropes of their harsh reality.

NO-Body told me that Shade isn't very sophisticated with any sort of weaponry, especially the big hulking guns that Nadie totes around with ease. So, I wanted to depict Shade's first use of Nadie's favored projectile weapon, the Blast Allot. In this desolate location, there are plenty of rock formations to blast for target practice. Shade thinks this will be a walk in the park... until she fires the thing, that is.
