During his teens, Evan gradually surpassed his father as an animatronic engineer. This was all due to his drive to make Mangle as lifelike as he possibly could.
Evan was sixteen when he built Mangle a brand new body, partially to get closer to fulfill her wish, and partially so that she could grow up alongside him. Mangle's new form was taller and looked more like a late teen or young adult. It was more maneuverable and dexterous, allowing her to move and manipulate objects with better precision. It also allowed her to wear different sets of clothes. The new body also possessed a digestive system of sorts, allowing her to taste and eat food.
Mangle was absolutely delighted by the new body, as it made her feel so much closer to what she wanted to look like. Moreover, she could no longer be identified as stolen Fazbear Entertainment property, and so could go outside and be seen in public without fear.
When prom came around at the end of the school year, Evan decided not to go as he thought it was just a waste of his time. When Mangle expressed how much she wished she could go to something like that, it took him by surprise. Although he had no romantic feelings for her, she nevertheless meant the world to him, and so he went out of his way to set up a prom for just the two of them. He got her some nice clothes, put on a suit, and brought Mangle to a backyard he had rented. There, they enjoyed themselves and danced the night away. It was one of the most magical nights in Mangle's existence, and it was one she would never forget.
