Chapter 2 Kari
It was still quite early so not many children were there yet and it was still quiet. While most of the children ignored the sobbing little girl/ one older girl at the infant school saw her and went over to see what was wrong. The older girl could tell that by the little tigers size and behaviour that it must have been her first day. Kari had seen it many times before.
However she was very surprised that none had stayed with the tiny kitten.

“Wants up kitty cat?” asked the older girl in a friendly way as she hated seeing other children so sad and upset.
Kiara looked up from her hands and quickly stood in a defensive posture as she was very scared.
“Who are you, what do you want Pwease don’t hurt me.” Blubbered the sobbing kitten.

The older girl chuckled and smiled “relax kitty cat im not gonna hurt ya folks call me Kari or Wolf chick or Wolfy. I just saw you cryin. And thought id comes see what was wrong. Is it your first day honey?” she asked gently.

Sensing Kari was kind and wouldn’t hurt her Kiara relaxed a little and replied in a nervous whisper very quietly:
“My name is Kiara and it’s my first day at big school and my sissy left me here cos she was wate for college she said she had an exam or something she said. And daddy was at work. Can I stay with you? Pwease “she adds shyly and looks at the ground.

Kari smiled” Sure kitty cat noone should be alone at school especially not on their first day.” She replied.
So with that Kari offered Kiara her hand and Kiara took it gratefully and they went off together to meet and play with karris friends.
This would hopefully be the start of a really great friendship and the start of an exciting new chapter in Kiara, s life…

Hand in hand the pair walked towards a large tree on the far side of the play ground under the tree four children sat talking and playing.
