
Mirage city would be a power player in the manatear, but the werewolves outside the manatear are highly invested in keeping that from happening. So instead they get to be highly influential instead.

hum, is this the first time you explicitely mentionned spellfluxed respawn ? (If not, where did I missed this ? ) I remember being confused once when you answered to one of my question wich seemed to imply that.
Also damn, mirage city seem quite a huge deal, so far it was haha-weird-magic-land , but an actual technological advanced and power hungry region sound like it could at one point tame the manatear and found way to seep outside of it (unless their caricatural greed somehow always make them shoot themselves in the foot )

oh they certainly also shoot themselves in the foot.
I am not sure if I have deliberately put it into a reference, I have written so much for it so I dunno. But yeah, when a spellfluxed kicks the bucket their SOUL CORE floats around until something desperate/scavenger level nabs it. For most transients above low power they are completely beneath their notice.
It is setup this way for two reasons.
1. This setting has no proper "bad ends" recovery is always possible even if there is consequences on the person.
2. I wanted a reasonable way for very non-hostile transients to get spellfluxed every so often. The tiny benign beehive isn't going to be able to "capture" most spellfluxed even on a good day.
I am not sure if I have deliberately put it into a reference, I have written so much for it so I dunno. I do have a map. it's not the largest place but there plenty of landmass for oodles of different things to happen. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47354880/ When I do the 2.0 version of this map I intend to region tone societies in outside of the "Huh there are definitely humans to the west". On this linked map the beast barony is effectively 1000 miles long, so the manatear is not small.
