This is what happens when I hear that dragons are classified as monsters. I guess that's true? While they are a fantastical species, I kinda associate dragons more with animals since they're more reptilian-based. Monsters, on the other claw, look more abstracted, like Mike and Sulley: they really don't resemble any sort of animal species, because they're a huge combination of diverse facial features, skin textures, and body parts. I don't know. Let me know of your thoughts if you read this.

So what's going on art production-wise is that I'm trying to find a way to draw for volume not perfection. What that means is having a ton of imperfect submissions instead of having only a few perfect submissions. I think this strategy will help, because when I focus too much on the details, like smoothing out the curves, I'm not learning as much; therefore, I won't improve as rapidly. However, by making a bunch of imperfect submissions, it will be a whole lot clearer what aspects I need to improve when I put all the works side-by-side.
I learned this from a YouTube video. It's the 2nd habit at timecode 8:33. Check it out if you'd like to defeat perfectionism and improve as well!

Yeah, when I look at definition of "dragon," oftentimes I will see that they are monsters, such as here:
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/dragon
Yes, it can go both ways. And heck, yeah! I like dragons way better, when they are friendly. I also think of them as lovable creatures who have such high potential for affection. <3

Hmm, well, I think dragons was considerate a monster in Europe culture, so yeah, maybe that's why some people say dragons are monsters.
But for me, I don't consider dragons as monsters, unless if some of them act like a monster, other than this, mostly I consider them just a big animal or reptile with wings that I love them ^^
Btw, nice drawing ^^

Ah, that makes sense, when you put it into European culture. It's funny how dragons have come from different parts of the world.
Dude, I love that definition "a big animal or reptile with wings that I love." That is so adorable! Dragons are just so lovable!
Hey, thanks; I appreciate it.^^

It's definitely an ambiguous classification, and I personally think that they're classified as both, or at least one or the other depending on how they act like in-universe.
As for the art, I do understand what you mean, especially as someone who's a bit of a perfectionist, and it's definitely a good way to improve.
