My mom use to make this when I was a kid and I loved it. I never got her recipe but I found this one online.
Ingredients
3 pounds ground meat, I used pork
1 medium onion, chopped
2 Baker Russet Potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
3 15.5oz cans of dark red kidney beans, rinsed
3 10.75oz cans of condensed tomato soup
1 46oz bottle of tomato juice
3 teaspoons of chili powder
1 teaspoon of cumin
2 teaspoons of garlic powder
salt to taste
46 ounces or less of water depending how thick or thin you want the soup, I just filled the empty tomato juice bottle with water
Directions
Cook the meat with the onions in a big soup pot
Drain any grease after meat is cooked
Add half the tomato juice, then the spices, then add everything else
Bring to a boil, lower heat and then simmer for an hour or less until potatoes are soft.
Turn off the heat , let it cool down and enjoy
This makes a TON of soup so make sure you have a big enough pot. The most expensive part of this soup is the meat depending on what type you use. I was able to get ground pork for $2 a pound. This does freeze well but let it thaw in the fridge for 2-3 days before you heat it back up.
And I have no idea why FA turned the picture sideways...

Looks tasty.
As for why FA turned the picture sideways, FA does that with photos a lot, for some odd reason. I've found a way to get around that is to manually crop a tiny bit of the photo out, in an image editor, then rotate the image one way and rotate it back. Save that, THEN upload that image. It's dumb but it seems to work for me.
