In a Pokemon world, where an island sits frozen in an eternal blizzard, two former humans are transported here for reasons they certainly don't remember. Jordan the Vulpix, and Light the Poochyena, find themselves spirited into a frozen city, standing as a bastion against the endless cold and a nexus for the exploration teams. Heated pipes weave through the city's stone to keep away the chill & ice, and the tall circular walls stave off the blizzard's harsh winds & snow. The city is a series of wide stone circles, buildings all standing around a central noble building, so the heat of the pipes may reach the citizens equally across the city. With such an unwavering defiance of the unwelcoming blizzard, the city had well-earned its name of Stalwarmth; "stalwart against the cold, we stand in the warmth together."
Here in this frozen city, fire types are rare- downright heralded as royalty! So naturally, Jordan is spirited away and granted nobility on the spot. Light, almost separated, is forced to claim servitude as Jordan's butler in order to stay by Jordan's side. The fire types are kept weighty and near their station: a mighty metal throne used to share the fire type's heat through their district of the city. With a new fire type found, the fighting types scramble to begin building a new district for Jordan to provide warmth to, and the grass types skedaddle to prepare a mighty feast for the newcomer. A thin fire type provides little heat to the city, after all!
Here we see Light, eating well after his forced 'promotion,' serving a resting Jordan. It's not often the fire types leave their hot metal thrones, but they do have small mansions dedicated to their leisure, and the politically active will often venture into their districts. Still, too much activity is ill-advised; although the food given to keep the royalty girthy is eagerly provided, it is not well-supplied. To waste one's adipose on persistent activity is considered an insult to the people of Stalwarmth, for it is a waste of hard-to-grow food and your ability to warm the city. Yet, to go thin by fasting is to doom yourself!
The Reshiram leader of the city, the king and centerpiece of the wide central circle of the city center, does his best to ensure plenty of food is provided in spite of the icy conditions so Pokemon may foster natural resistance to the cold. The structures closest to the central mansion are always food; even on poor output days, the food sources should never been in danger. The farthest reaches of a circle are usually dedicated to storage, but become permanent housing when two fire type's circular districts wind up overlapping.
The fire type royalty usually organize once a week to discuss the state of the city, but since even before Jordan's arrival, the meetings have been slowed to once a month. Was it out of fear of the harsh weather, a lethargic apathy from the obese fire Pokemon, or something more sinister? Only time will tell.
I do plan to write a story around this concept eventually, but for now it's just a blurb. Hope you like the concept either way! I know I do.
