He was an adventurer. Moved from place to place and take any job he can. Mark wasn't famous... at all. And he barely have money for food and bed.
But once in a small village people asked him to check the near by cave. Sometimes they hear strange quiet noise and see dim light flashes coming from that cave. Guard told them they just imagine it and even threatened them.
When Mark came to cave he haven't notice anything unusual. Walking in cave was quiet and boring. It was totally empty and at some point Mark thought that guard was right there's nothing in the cave. After several hours of walking Mark made a resting spot to return to village at dawn.
Just before the Sun showed up Mark heard the strange noise. After looking around he noticed the light the villagers was talking about but... it wasn't flashes it was more like flow of light. Hour of walking and it was clear noise became louder and light brighter the closer Mark was to the source of this.
Another half an hour and here it is. Bright blue orb emitting a lot of magic. But is this some kind of ancient artifact or magical anomaly? Is it dangerous? Well, at least it's definitely very valuable
