Stove cooked Ground turkey, cooked baby carrots, cradled in Soft boiled egg noodles. Another soft meal.
I spent a lot of time this morning in between tending to the animals, coffee, and tea. I'm in a pretty genuine mood. I wake up achy and sometimes dehydrated, but I'm happy.
It was a bit of a test for my moving around with in a hot kitchen, but it was totally worth it in the end. I finally, after many years of not doing so, perfected the art of cooking raw carrots to softened perfection in a meal. (●ˇ∀ˇ●)
★Seasonings I used here were of most of my regular caliber: Beef Boullion powder (I don't have turkey and chicken can get dull after using too much/I normally switch out), onion and garlic, of course (a little more onion, because too much garlic adds too much spicy), white balsamic vinegar (in the meat, more specifically), two tablespoons of unsalted butter, a slight/heavy sprinkle of sharp cheddar cheese, and love. <3
A genuine home cooked meal is full of love with just a few seasonings and extra ingredients. It's how my grandma worked in the kitchen, it's what my mom learned from her that I've grown to heavily embrace. (I noticed my portions are normally huge, oh my word.)
(┬┬﹏┬┬)
Then again, I leave small portions of my finished meals to eat the rest, later. I'm learning to take gentle comfort of my achievements and handle my emotions with great care.
It's raining this morning upon waking up and even now. It's really nice. The gentle pattering of raindrops that dance on the tin roof really do carry a calming effect and tune within my healing heart and mind. It's a gentle morning. I'm currently listening to that one playlist on Spotify dedicated only to Disturbed and compiling chatter-topics for our next therapy session. It's really nice to hear mom tell me that she's proud of mine and DeviledMan 's progression as healing and growing beings. She's proud of our willingness and strength to grow. I'm proud of me, and I'm proud of us.
The total cook time..approx 30-45 min..depends I think. Cooked the noodles to a boil, they take roughly 10 minutes to soften. Turkey cooked to completion in skillet, the dial was set at 7-8 at highest. The carrots cooked about as long (or a little less than it took to finish the noodles and turkey meat (pre-thawed). I cut up the baby carrots for quicker cook time in a sauce pan with a little bit of oil and some leftover broth to balance heat + softness.
Saucepan: carrots and noodles separately, added carrots last.
Deep skillet for turkey and mixing ✨️
