On her way to her latest quest, Freya found herself "momentarily" distracted. While she was meandering north along an old deer trail, her sharp hunter's eyes caught some movement in the grass. As she slowed down to investigate, cautiously mindful of any potential danger, she discovered a fluffle of the most adorable bunnies she had ever seen. Determined to stay on track, she barely resisted the near-sinful bliss which hugging bunnies promised.
As she reached the top of the hill, she gasped at the breathtaking view before her. The vista was simply stunning, with the rolling hills in shades of green and gold, and the sun casting a warm, golden light across the landscape. But her gaze was soon drawn back to the bunnies. She wondered what it would be like to hold them, to feel their soft fur against her skin. She closed her eyes and imagined herself surrounded by the pure creatures, each one vying for her attention and affection.
After a few minutes of indulging her imagination, Freya sighed and reluctantly faced north once again, ready to continue her quest. If she didn't pick up the pace there would be a good chance she won't make it to the next town by nightfall. But she couldn't resist casting one last look back at the hill where the bunnies had been. To her surprise, she saw movement directly behind her. With a sudden turn to face whatever was behind her head on, she realized the fluffle had been following her, and they were now hopping playfully around her feet.
Overwhelmed by their cuteness once more, Freya felt a warmth spread through her chest. She had encountered many challenges in her time, but it was moments like these, surrounded by innocent creatures and natural beauty, that made her feel truly alive. With a smile on her face, she laid down and scooped up one of the bunnies, cuddling it close and feeling a sense of peace wash over her.
Whatever the cost was for this delay, it would certainly be worth it.
