That's interesting. The car that I learned to drive in (and got my license in back in 1979) was a '68 Fairlane 4 door. Had a 289 2bbl in it. Belonged to my Dad. I had a lot of fun times in it before he got tired of it and sold it.

Actually you might want to consider keeping the 200 I-6. It was a really good dependable motor and you hardly ever see any of them any more. I understand the allure of the 390 and the power but if you want something that will bring comments at a car show, keep the original engine. People will definitely comment on it.

Oh. I'm keeping the original powertrain. I'm the third owner, fully documented. It has Factory A/C (extremely rare in the 6 cyl), three build sheets, owner's manual, warranty booklet, purchase receipt, and shipping receipt. Built in Hapeville, GA, sold in Birmingham, AL.

Thanks! I'm pretty good with markers. The smooth look is mainly just going over the area about a million times until the streaks start to blend out. Not 100% successful, but pretty close.

What markers do you use?

A mix of Prismacolor, Tria and Blick. They all handle the same, so mixing brands isn't an issue.

My dad bought a 1969 yellow Ford Falcon Futura sedan with the vinyl roof. Had it for about ten years...my dad drove the car to work in a round trip of about 40-50 miles daily. Traded it in for a Dodge Station Wagon in the late 1970s.

Never got to drive the Falc...pity. Loved that model.
