Haven't played Chimera Squad as much, despite buying it day one but it's imo the perfect entry for newer players.

Completed Chimera squad recently with ~30 hours of walkthrough.
I agree it's perfect entry for newer players because it's more friendly for new players but... I guess story made for old players mostly with chance to attract new players. I like The Bureau, XCOM2 and XCOM: CQ but not XCOM1:EU/EW. I'm still amazed by The Bureau final story twist.

Interesting. Yeah The Bureau's twist was the best part about that game. I don't hate it but it's just kinda meh.
Funny thing about Chimera Squad is; There were a bunch of old players who were upset that you teamed up with the aliens rather than exterminating them. Getting alien squadmates was pretty much a guarantee, because the Playable Aliens mod for XCOM 2 was one of the most popular mods ever.

Is there a particular reason you dislike EU/EW btw? And have you ever played the OG games from the 90s?
