Say hello to Aya Nazari! Aya is a very, very, very, /very/ distant descendant of the Actual God of Death Anubis, You Know, From Egypt. Turns out that way back when, Anubis and a couple of gifted mages got into a ... thing, and a species offshoot of half-human half-divine folk were created! They served dutifully as court magicians and enforcers for a good while, but the passage of time put a pretty fine damper on that (along with the amount of god-blood they still had in their veins, too).
She's from around the turn of the 20th century, having been born into an Egypt occupied at points by the Ottomans and the British. And anyone who knows anything about the 1900s knows exactly the kind of shitstorm that kicks off in 1914, of which Egypt was not left out of. So, this magically gifted and educated (at a surviving remnant of the Library of Alexandria, if you'd believe it) lady decided it was best to throw her hat into the ring and join up with the British forces in the region. Because honestly, as horrible as the British are, they're vaguely preferable to the Ottomans fucking around for another hundred years.
Aya was then trained as a mage specialized in the summoning of fortifications and literal artillery, making her quite the powerful source of support when it comes to fighting, and eventually did take to actual combat. Where she did not at all get a smidgen of trauma imparted on her because of, you know, the horrors of war. Not at all! During the course of a very messy battle midway through the war, the interruption of an opposing mage's spell misfired and ... well, basically punted Aya into the modern era very unceremoniously. So, now she works as basically a freelance mage and occasional researcher-slash-academic, conflicted with the improvements of the modern world versus wanting to find a way back to her home time.
She might be a bit stuck-up and stuffy at times, but Aya's still a good gal at heart. Someone just needs to dig through a veritable boatload of Issues to actually get her to act relaxed and maybe even smile once in a blue moon. :)
The latter of the two monstergirl designs (From MGE) that I cobbled together into actual roleplay characters. Once again, feel free to comment or ask questions about her if y'all want, and this was drawn by my friend megacowtroll/ZangZilla on twitter!
