Figured out how to make the awful working file for "Baby, I'm On Fire" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5086451/ and "Wings of Fire" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5086461 work. Most of the problem was Mewblade in general. She was too light, had way too large of a visual space and her colors were more vibrant than Vicebane's. This is part of the reason why her wallpaper looked so bad in contrast to Vicebane's, since I had placed her in the back and sort of intended to hide the giant flaming fail that her fire was. Then I never got to the compilation since I was kind of clueless as to how to create balance. This is why I hate my brain. I know most artists I talk to aren't even aware of such painfully annoying things such as color contrast, image flow and so on. It has reached the point where I don't draw images, I calculate them, tracing my finger around the page to make sure everything points back to the intended focal point.
As for the title, I don't think the intention of making Mewblade or Vicebane was to light either on fire. They had slightly more higher purposes than that. Mewblade a lot more than most. I always liked classic Mewthree designs since they're freakishly overpowered and often evil looking. Nothing more classic than stereotypical black and purple, or red.
Random remark, the artist of this Eurobeat song title, 'Neo' has probably got to be the best candidate for a Mewblade voice, except when it comes to actual vocal clarity. Dude sings like a lady. (And if you don't believe, Eurobeat/Initial D fans, try listening to "Takumi" without snikering.)

The distorted fire effect would probably mean the wings. Mostly everything else was Color Adjustment, some Warp, and the layer effects of Screen and Linear Dodge (Add). The wings were basically a lot more Warping and Rotation of the fire, along with Eraser Tool and Smudge.
