One thing about Vincent's lab coat is that he's taken the time to extensively modify it to suit his needs both in and outside the lab, or even serve as a mobile laboratory. Built into the shoulders are a pair of hard-light hologram projectors that can flip open on command and project a workspace for the fox to interact with. The computer systems can either be interacted with by touch, or by gesture using the gloves he wears that track the motions of his hands.
As for what he uses it for, it serves many purposes: Keeping up with the latest news and communications, in-depth analysis of field samples, running simulations on the go, computer-aided design, commanding drones, or whatever else he feels like programming it to do.
