AFAD (Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı), or the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency, is at the forefront of relief efforts following a devastating earthquake in southeastern Turkey.
A natural disaster on February 6 claimed the lives of hundreds of people and leveled entire neighborhoods in the southern provinces of the country. Turkish President Erdogan called the earthquake the "biggest disaster" since 1939. AFAD has been preparing for many decades to respond to such large-scale natural disasters.
The agency is raising money for the victims. Money (in lira, euro or dollars) can be transferred directly to AFAD, details in various local banks are indicated on their website.

The state made false news, a few young people called someone trapped in the earthquake and made fun of him, AFAD sold tents instead of helping the earthquake victims, there were comments on social media saying, "This happened because sinners like you commit adultery and don't believe in God." These are just a few of the disgraces that occurred during the earthquake.
