I did it! I completed this year’s National Model Painting Month horse!
Glæsilegur is Breyer’s porcelain Icelandic Horse, released in 1992 (the picture also shows the original finish.) Sadly he’s not likely to ever be released in plastic or resin, and it took me years to find one that was scuffed up enough to justify customizing him. I made him over into a soft dapple gray--he’s the reason I’ve been making so many dappled models as of late, to make sure I was really prepared for him. I am just totally in love with how he turned out!
