Archi-type experiment
Normally I don't upload content this early, but I am really excited about this. This was supposedly an experiment, but I fell in love with the result. <3
So much in fact that I may decide to make it an official feature.
There will be certain changes to the anatomy as well to match the alien appearance and a more "feral" posture capability. I had so many ideas that I simply didn't implement due to internal conflicts, but I learned to be more open and embrace my interests as life has been rather suppressing the last years, and my art not as good as it could have been.
I jumped to conclusions too early with the revamp, and will most likely do more concepts until I find something that suits my taste.
Some artists struggle a lot with their designs, and I understand that some people will be confused about the many changes. But... I view it as part of the learning process.
I am not exactly a passionate creature artist and mostly focus on lore-related characters and visions. All I can do is grow with it, my concepts, and see what comes out of it. It goes far deeper than that with this design in particular, but I do not wish to ponder on that. All I know is what things I came to love, and things I came to despise.
Now, the idea behind this image/change. On one hand, I always found transparent visors/domes to be an interesting concept, especially because one can see through them, and gives off a deep sea feel. The architects themselves as physical beings have such visors of their own, and it would only make sense for the entity to have a similar design approach. On the other hand, desired a more... expressive face. With some more plating and a couple more growths, this is what came out of it.
It took me a while to figure out a way to include the facial crest, and ultimately decided to get rid of the bottom as it had a certain unpleasantness to it.
With particular plates able to move and growths giving off pulsating signals of light, the visor remains the most recognizable feature. Normally it does not illuminate, with the eye and skull features visible underneath the transparent dome upon closer inspection. It is not hollow but filled with a transparent substance that keeps the eye wet, and functions as a transmitter for signals.
Certain moods affect this dome. Whether aggressive, calm, or excited, positive blood starts pumping into the strangely arranged veins, to illuminate this area for communicative purposes.
Capable of traversing space without many negative effects, the entity also uses this protective shield to its advantage. While UV radiation does not negatively affect them, particles floating in space could however become quite difficult to handle, considering they have to traverse through atmospheres, and worlds merely consisting of nothing but storms.
In the future, I shall explain the process of space travel more thoroughly, as I recently came to enjoy concepting it.
