Festival Girls (Collaboration: Pencils by Patches)
patches_namaki did this drawing http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5084032/ of Emira, his character, Eve, and Wielder all decked out in kimono and mentioned that he'd like for me to color it. Well, I figured that it'd be a good chance to do something a little different for a background, and that it would be fun to color his work. Thanks, Patches!
He had said he was inspired by the New Years Episode of Bleach, so I tried to keep with that theme. Emira is probably cautioning Eve not to eat too many sweets as she doesn't want to spend the later hours of the festival chasing around a skunk on a sugar high. Wieldes, as Patches himself stated, is probably looking for Obi-Wan. Damn lecherous wolf!
And a little birdie told me that this would be a set *whispers emira and patches_namaki*. Who will do what, there's no tellin'.
Copic markers, india ink, brush pen, micron inks, and gel pen on Paris paper. Mounted on scrapbooking paper.

hit enter too soon (my keyboard is acting up) This is amazing work! I need to go back through your gallery and see if I can pick up some coloring tips. My only minor complaint would have been no make-up on Eve and her eyes are Green. I believe Emira was going to draw the guy version to go with this (Patches, her hubby and Obi-won) and maybe I can try coloring that one (not that it will look anything like this)

I'm so glad you like the way it turned out. Thanks so much! I do have a marker coloring tutorial in my scraps if you'd like to look at it, but I think you typically use colored pencils more, right?
I put makeup on all of them because it's kind of a traditional thing to have on at least blush in formal kimono. And I colored Eve's eyes more of a seafoam green than the parrot green of Emmi's because I wanted some contrast. I promise they're green in RL, but colors like that sometimes don't scan too well or monitors like to rape them all to hell for some reason.

Thanks so much! Yeah, it was fun to do some more oriental themed work. I'm lovin' mah SW fan-nerdery, but the samurai themed stuff is one of my favorite things to work on. I'm actually working on a trade piece for Skyler right now that is Okari/Ragnarok themed again.
