Finally have my computer back from the repair shop and I HAD to shade this. I cannot leave a character death piece half-assed...
Not all of us made it out of Castle Ravenloft. We were fleeing a monster Strahd summoned, and Aranvir doubled-back to grab The Amulet of Ravenkind that Strahd took from Theron and tossed to us. Aranvir would have made it. It was so close. But then...Theron pshed him back through the doors. As Aranvir was grabbed by the mass of dark tendrils and skeletal arms, his eyes fell to his subordinate, his best friend, his little sister, his chuckaboo. And he gave one last order before the doors shut.
He had already been bitten twice by Strahd. He would never be the same.
"Hestara, please..." Is a phrase quite often used by him, usually when the firey half-elf is about to go overboard. Usually muttered in a tired tone. This time, it was a desperate cry.
RiP(ish) Aranvir Ulden. You were a great leader, a devoted husband and father, and true friend. Until Barovia found the crack in your will and utterly shattered you. (September 9, 2022 - February 11, 2023)
This is the second-ever character I've lost in a campaign, and OH MAN this one hurts.
