“She did. She sacrificed herself to save the world. Two worlds, really. And she did so knowing her soul was damned.”

“Then… how…?”

“You spend all day, every day, fighting the most horrifying supernatural nightmares the world can offer… you start to think they’re all monsters. Truth is, there’s *good* out there. Good we’ll never see. Whoever runs that last ferry trip we all take must have seen something in her. Either way, I’m glad my son isn’t a widower.”
