While I'm vaguely familiar that trailer parks in North America have something of a reputation, caravan parks in the UK are quite different. I have vivid memories of little Dai riding in a car to far off places like Cornwall and Dorset and Rhyl and the Isle of Wight to make a home out of a static caravan, with all the amenities I could get at home just slightly smaller and with a slightly higher chance of breaking. While caravan holidays might not be for everyone, I find something rather quaint about staying in a little caravan by the seaside, to be used as a base for exploring the surrounding area, or a little place to chill away from home. While better suited to people driving in, a lot of parks now also have nearby public transport options, making it so that anyone can have a nice change of scenery for a reasonable price.

The first house my brother and I bought (1978) was a 'ranch house' built around a mobile home. 10 years later, we built a modular home on the site, but the neighborhood is still trailer park trash. Seriously? of the 28 adults on the street, only 8 finished high school.
One of my next door neighbors has some college; she currently works in a bank (she used to manage the counting room at the casino). Another up the street has a four-year degree; I think she works for an insurance company. The rest... I'm thinking it was dumb luck they graduated at all.
