Both teams sort of calm down, except for a select few who appear to know a few things that the rest of the bunch do not.
“Okay guys, referee's not looking like he'll be back for a while, let's get back to playing!”
“We're down a player,” bunny captain naively remarks.
“You've got an extra fatty on the bench back there,” the red badger retorts, moving around, still obviously excited by his recent rampage.
“You're one to call anyone fat, your entire team's chubby...”
Most of the badgers growl and protest in response to the snarky comeback; not the red shooter and his two acolytes... they sneer condescendently at it, comparatively weaker than more creative ones they've come up with in the past; it's obvious that their rivals are under stress. But not ready to go down without a fight.
“But alright then! Winner takes al!”
“What's wrong bunny boy? Looking for your dignity? Yeah I couldn't find it either hehehe...”
“What do you want??”
“Relax, I'm just here to open the door for you, I don't think you carry a spare key in your little drawers do you.”
He knows better than to take the fox at face value, but what choice does he have? He just prepares himself to run in as soon as the door would be open.
“T-that's awfully nice of you,” he mumbles.
“Don't mention it, it's my duty; plus you deserve all of it for being such a good sport! You know, I hadn't pegged you for a mommy's boy, with you being a horrible jerk and all...”
Oggle swallows uneasily.
“Yeah that stuff we did to you, wasn't my idea.”
“Of course not. Wouldn't expect such a plot from some cowardly little dweeb, just look at you haha...”
Oggle, not used to be at the receiving end of such relentless mockery, reaches boiling point.
“Look just open the locker already! You had your revenge, what more do you want??”
The fox snickers to himself; the callout snaps him back to reality and the fact as fun as it is to play with his prey, he'd have to get the business done before anyone would get suspicious. There would be plenty of time after the match.
In one quick movement, he hops next to the door to engage the key, and with his other arm, takes the bunny in a headlock. Oggles jumps in surprise and instinctively tries to run off, but finds himself unable to do so. As the referee unlocks the door and pushes him in, he whispers in his ear : “It's adorable that you think I'm done with you just now. In fact, I'm pretty sure you'll help me get the rest of your little gang. If you cooperate, no matter what I do with you, you'll think you had it pretty good I promise! If we can't get them tho... then oh well, guess you'll have to take one for the team again...”
“W... what are you gonna do to me??”
“Shh,” the fox answers instead of dignifying the whimper with a proper answer. “Just get your fuzzy butt in there, buddy.”
Perhaps he himself doesn't know, or currently has too much of a good time imagining it; maybe the second best thing would be to let the bunny know and observe his reaction; then again it could just as well be to let him imagine it himself, and look at him stew in fear.
It might be the zodiac year of the bunnies but it's not their day so far is it >.>
