Just me pining over my lack of draconity again. Just because I recognize the fact that I am and have always been human, doesn't mean I have to like it.
*sigh*
Having scales would kick more ass than a mute, armless man with Turrets [sp?] XD!

Wings over scales, every time. ^_^ Great poem! You know, one of the most interesting things about the mythology of dragons, at least to me, is that it has six limbs. There isn't a single vertebrate that naturally has more than four. And yet most cultures have some sort of six-limbed dragon.
Neat, huh?

Yup! I actually have a little chart that I made up that lists all scalies and classifies them according to the number of limbs they possess:
6:
4 legs/arms, 2 wings; True dragon
4:
4 legs/arms, 0 wings; Lizard - 2 legs/arms, 2 wings; Drake
2:
2 legs/arms, 0 wings; Naga - 0 legs/arms, 2 wings; Wyvern
0:
0 legs/arms, 0 wings; Snake

A very nice poem. They rhyme meter worked best in the first couple stanzas, in my opinion. I would love to see what you could do with your yearnings in free verse. Gonna check your gallery to see if you already have. I am not into draconian but the poem made me ache for my true form as well. Thank you for sharing it.
