So I have a WoF fighting AU for a while now - This is me finally committing to writing a scene.

Not the best at writing out an existing character's personality, that said, entire bonds that are integral in the original series might be missing (E.g. Sunny here is merely acquainted with the rest of the DoD, she's more familiar with Qibli due to a mutual, Thorn). You could perhaps see it as referencing certain key events or points instead of just directly translating everything into a combat sport analogy. Besides, this is a completely different world technologically, surely the environment would have them act differently than in canon.

The JMA crew are young adults at this point, as seen here with Winter, having the capital and freedom to actually help in developing Sanctuary, which is merely a privately developed estate here. There are many more details that may be mulled over later on, bit-by-bit as more scenarios and dialogues are played out.
