It's an anthropomorphic Telex system!

Love the typography here; reminds me of 1970s business-to-business advertising, which is about the time I started working out in the larger world.

I found a Telex machine at my job and sent a one-liner to my Dad at his job. He told me the next day that that probably cost my employer's client about $1.20 USD in 1978. I tracked down the company's secretary (Admin, today) and offered to pay them back. "Don't worry about it but don't do it again." Dumb kid stuff.

Hahaha, that's incredible. Perhaps a tad more egregious, but that story reminds me of back in like 2008 when my dad got mad at me because I'd accidentally used up half our broadband allowance (1GB??) watching youtube videos.

True; the networked world is more a way of life than a luxury, today. Even my phone gets 5GB a month. My brother just trashed our cable TV service and we're using streaming services. We're saving over $100 USD a month. Still keeping the unlimited cable internet, though.

When I was a teen in the 70's, the first computer game I ever played was a version of Star Trek via a mainframe that you had to use a teletype to interface with. The refresh rate was measured in "seconds per frame."

30 seconds per frame gives me a headache, which is why I always try to play at 60!

This achieved by having a sloth do all the typing.
