This is another one of the species from the same fantasy world as the last piece I posted. While the kankir in that world are a rather minor race, the klyra here are one of the main players. They are a taur-like species with a pair of horns that extend from the backs of their heads. These horns are actually magical receptors as their bodies actually require absorbing more ambient magic than most other species. This magic allows them to regulate and upkeep their large bodies while still retaining as lower lung capacity. This also means that the horns are a weak point and if they are damaged it leads to massive health problems for the klyra.
This species was actually the first original species that I invented for the world way back in college. This picture in particular was a redo of a drawing I found in my sketch book from probably ten years back. I had originally sketched out a background and intended to paint it, but I was unhappy with the results and decided to just finish it up with some ink, color, and shading. Initially I had conceptualized a sort of wealthy merchant based on the clothing, but after coloring the fur and hair my friend commentated that they looked like they were trying to be edgy and I can not disagree.
