just "random" in-between sketch - no idea how big is overlap between WOF and JoJo fans (if it exists at all) - but there you go!
this image is based on/inspired by this one [ https://e621.net/posts/1781627 ] and it's amalgamation Qibli and Winter of 'Wings of Fire' and Joseph Joestar and Ceasar Zeppeli of 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure'. why? - because i felt like it - also: they are both duos with homo-erotic vibe to them, and somewhat symmilar dynamic. Finally: i wanted pretext to talk about both franchises so there is that.
Wings of Fire Part
ok so - i've already did write about it here [ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48309131/ ][NSFW] how i don't think that those books are that good to be honest - but i'll do it again!
i could explain that: if all dragons are hunter-gatherers, and all spices/tribes are occupying their distinct ecological niche, with little overlap (especially icewings and seawings) - then there is little to no reason for conflict, and whole kingdoms stuff is beyond contrived - as concept of "kingdom" and "castle" come from need of defending land you cultivate (so hunter-gatherers don't make castles).
I COULD DO THAT, but instead i'll point out something else that is bit messed up: that is 'story of Pyrite'.
like: really, am i only one who immediately thought to myself: "this is deeply messed up and wrong"?
tl;dr (for people who didn't read those books) - there is magic in WoF, and there is "enchanted trinket/neckless which will turn its wearer into dragoness Pyrite". But it's literal: it doesn't change your appearance to Pyrites - you become Pyrite - you yourself stop existing and in your place appears Pyrite with her distinct personality, memories and body. You'll retain memories of being her, if she'll take off that neckless and disappear, but she doesn't know that she's "not natural", she doesn't share your memories (it only works one way).
if someone puts this necklaces on: she appears, if she takes it off, "original" dragon reappears, if someone else will put it on after a while: she'll appear again. But from her point of view it's smash-cut to being in different place, surrounded by different people (dragons), with no time passage being registered between "necklaces not being worn by anyone".
So that is "set up"
another tl;dr of what happens in book: main characters during their adventures, the rescue brother of one of main protagonist, who was forced to wear that necklace as Pyrite easier to manage and manipulate then him. She was basically used as sort-of-prison for him. After shenanigans they "free" him and just stash Pyrite-necklaces into their 'bag of holding' or something and it's never brought up again...
As part of enchantment Pyrite is "not very bright" (to put it mildly), BUT HOLY F*CK IS THAT COLD! Am I alone in this?! As i've said: she's "not natural" but she IS real! cogito ergo sum! HOW?! How as a writer could you just let her hanging like that?! what will happen to her? if necklaces will be destroyed she will die right? so she'll be "in coma", waiting for this trinket to wither away?!
like: she's working for "the enemy", but it was explicitly stated that it is due to enchantment, which got altered at any rate! she's out right dumb, but she seems to have "generally cheerful / cookie personality" and she is oblivious to the fact that she's being used - why the hell would you make her sympathetic, and then just throw her to the side?! she behaves like annoying puppy so you just leave her by the side of the road?!
Really: i would like to know, do you agree with me? or am i alone on this one? Pyrite getting shafted is cruel as f*ck if you ask me.
it is cruel but lamo:

ok that was WOF part now JoJo part
ok so i've watched 2 and 1/2 of seasons and what can i say is:
1st season / Phantom Blood - it is decent - Jonathan Joestar is extreme 'Mary Sue' but Bizarre Adventure is on point as far as descriptions go and it is weirdly entertaining.
2nd season / Battle Tendency - it's good! - i love Joseph Joestar, he has got charisma, he is funny, but he is not 'Mary Sue' and bizarreness is still there.
3rd season / Stardust Crusaders - holy f*ck what happen?! it is bad! - Jotaro Kujo is irredeemable asshole, truly hateable character, i really despise him! to the point where i didn't finish this one and it killed my interest in the series - he is really that bad. Only redeemable thing is that Joseph Joestar returns as 60y/o and he is still entertaining.
also: WTF is up with this unexplained switch from 'hamon' to 'stands'? it's just dumb, lazy writing. You want me to tell me that the couldn't "think off anything new with hamon"?! they had swordsman who wielded his sword with his hair! it is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - it doesn't need to make any sense, but it should be "consistent in its own bizarre world" - this is just bullshit of child who got bored halfway through sentence with his toy and brought new one out of nowhere. it's "naha - i have everything proof forcefield" of writing - i really don't like it either!
so yeah: go watch seasons 1 and 2 and pretend that others don't exist - i don't care about 4th and 5th seasons either - 3rd soured me so badly to the whole thing - Bravo mr. Hirohiko Araki! you freakin' hack writer (on the flip side: i like your illustrations - they have weird, but infectious energy to them).
Ukrainian war:
still a thing 🙁
good luck - and best wishes to Ukrainians!
