Was reading through you and the 'burr''s comments about visual metaphors and have to say I'm with you on the whole "not seeing random little metaphors" thing. (though maybe for different reasons)

It's actually the same reason why abstract art like this is my favorite type, you can pick out certain things and go "well this means ______" but when all is said and done you're imposing your meaning onto it. The picture itself (if truly abstract) is supposed to make a reference to nothing other than itself (which is why Picasso isn't abstract, had a debate with my mom about that... she has never taken an art class but thinks she knows everything about everything).

That said, abstract art is great at showing emotion (you/Kandinsky are great at that ).

If about halfway through it stops making sense, it's because my mom came into my room and started interrogating me about my classes this semester so I lost my train of thought. -.-
