I think you're confusing "feral" with "non-anthro". The latter term applies to a character who is presented as as a normal, real world version of their species without the alterations usually seen in furry characters (e.g. standing upright, human-like breasts). "Feral" applies to a member of any domesticated species who is living wild. (Granted, Kitty might like to "live wild", but not in the sense I'm talking about here.)
