This is my drawing of the ES&D's 2-4-4 Forney steam locomotive number 50. The ES&D (Eat Shit and Die) is a fictitious Railroad created by a Youtuber named Mark Huber, and his channel is called Hyce, here's a link if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/@Hyce777. The lore I've created for this locomotive is that the ES&D had a contract to run commuter services between a few smaller towns and a big city, but increasing ridership meant extra cars, which was starting to become a problem for the small, aging locomotive that was assigned to the job. To solve this issue, the ES&D's management decided that they would look for a suitable replacement that they could purchase second-hand from another railroad, though their options were somewhat limited, as they needed something that was powerful enough to handle the extra cars, fast enough to keep to the timetable, and flexible enough to handle the ES&D's famously sharp curves. Soon, they settled on 2-4-4 Forney number 50, which was being retired by another railroad, who was seeking to replace her with a more modern locomotive. Once the deal was signed, number 50 was loaded onto a truck, and brought to the ES&D's shops, where she was given the necessary repairs, and relettered for the ES&D, though she retained her original number. After this, she was put through a trial period, after which she went back to the shops for some modifications, such as the addition of wooden coal boards around the top of the coal bunker and water tank to increase her coal capacity, adding the equipment needed to supply steam to the passenger cars for steam heating, a larger air compressor and main reservoir, and a modification to the lead truck so that it could swivel farther. following these modifications, she was put in service pulling the commuter train, and served the railroad faithfully for many years, until she was unfortunately lost in a deadly wreck, when an engineer sent her into a sharp curve going far above the speed limit while trying to make up time, as they were running behind schedule. Number 50 derailed violently, rolling onto her side and sliding a fair distance before coming to rest, killing the engine crew and causing several passenger cars to derail behind her, though they fortunately did not roll, and the engine crew were the only fatalities. However, the ES&D's management decided that she was damaged beyond repair, and they wrote her off completely, as her frame was twisted, her boiler kinked, and all of the running gear on the one side was completely wrecked. For a long time after the accident however, engine crews reported seeing the 50's engineer and/or fireman in the cab with them, and some engineers even said that their engines suddenly started decelerating out of nowhere if they were approaching the curve at beyond the speed limit. Eventually the sightings slowed and stopped, but not before the curve where the wreck happened was officially named "Haunted Ass Curve."
