Last but not least, it's the cape of Super Mario World fame. Alongside the Tanuki, the cape is my favorite flight based Mario power-up. Something about it just looks right on him and it's a shame it's never returned outside of it's clumsy usage in Super Smash Bros. For this however I wanted to make something that was more than just Mario or Luigi wearing a cape and give them and accompanying superhero-esque outfit to go along with it. A look that really gave meaning to the epithet "Super Mario" ...looking upon it though, I'm not exactly sure I made the right choice or not but whatcha' gonna do? There's elements I really like, I'm just not sure I'm fully married to the idea. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind later, either way it was a good excuse to do a fun exercise!
