The peets were more in focus indeed than in any other movie before, yeah, don't even want to know how many people developed their macro kink back then xD I do like the sleeker, more dynamic zilla design, reminded me of the jurassic park dinos of course which I was a big fan of.

I think the film gets an unfair reputation due to it carrying the Godzilla name as opposed to being called something else.

Yeah, it would've probably been received better as just a monster movie, but I guess they simply wanted that name recognition. That plus the usual Roland Emmerich silliness we see in all his movies did our poor girl dirty xD

There are still good things that came out of it like the monster design (especially the art, heh) and the killer soundtrack, and honestly Matthew Broderick wasn’t to bad.

Though it sucks the soundtrack isn’t on streaming services which needs to change, glad I have the CD.

I wouldn’t mind if she was rampaging through my city and plus, I don’t hate the 1998 Godzilla like most people do, heck I like that version of Godzilla just as much as I like any version of the character.

It definitely has its merits, and if its only the nicely different sleek design they gave her.

I do love the idea that she was female, not to mention in doing research on Marine Iguanas, "the species she is Mutated from" the film actually makes much more sense when making her female, 1 is the simple fact SHE LAYS EGGS! they try and dismiss this by saying "oh he reproduces A Sexually" which is something that Male Marine Iguanas cannot do. And Female Marine Iguanas can lay eggs without the presence of a male, 2 is her color palette, Zilla has very distinctive Female coloring for a marine Iguana, grays, tans and faded greens and blues, where as male Marine Iguanas have much brighter and vibrant colors like reds oranges yellows and even brighter blues and pinks, and finally and most dambing peace of evidence of all, 3 her genitals, because as I'm sure many fail to notice unlike most iterations of "Godzilla" Zilla has Genitalia, Female Genitalia, again the film makers dismiss this saying they didn't want to give him proper male genitals because most of the street shots looking up at his dick and balls, which again doesn't make any sense because male Marine Iguanas genitals are tucked away inside out of view. With all that said. It boils down to "They said it was male because it's "Godzilla" despite the fact that Toho has come right out and even stated I believe in shin, that what attacked New York was NOT GODZILLA so with all that said Zilla is Female. And watching her go full rage after her babies were blown up was so wonderful ^^

Agreed. Zilla got far more hate than she deserved. She has the most sleek design of all kaijus (Millenium Gigan was also pretty sleek.)
