Sgt. Aleksandr Dimitrevich Volkov is an anthropomorphic wolf, serving as an assault sapper as part of a contingent of the Soviet Red Army attached to Chanticleer Bluth's 104th Composite Unit. The son of two industrial workers, he grew up in the major Soviet city of Voronezh, Rushia. Like many children of his generation, he joined his local Youth Pioneers troop, and later his local Komsomol. He was just 16 when the Jerrymans launched Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Toonion, in the summer of 1941. Aleksandr and his parents managed to evacuate eastward, but his uncle Pavel was caught in the encirclement at Bryansk, and would later be executed by the Jerrymans for assisting local partisans. When Aleksandr finally came of age, he enlisted in the Red Army, and trained to become part of the new assault sapper units breaking through enemy fortifications. He fought as part of the 1st Inkrainian Front from the battles of Kyiv to Berlin. After the war, he helped to rebuild his hometown, which had been ravaged during the fighting, and got a job in a machine tool factory.

Like in many other nations, Disney exerted influence in the Politburo over the course of the following decade, especially among the older apparatchiki. After the destruction of the High School Musitron, Disney troops attempted to occupy the Soviet Toonion, but were caught up in intense street fighting, only retreating after the Disney Castle in Anaheim had been destroyed. With the formation of an international all-Cartoon unit meant to take the fight to Disney, Aleksandr signed up, vowing to crush corporate fascism once and for all. Despite the protests of Americartoon higher-ups, the Soviet contingent was welcomed into the fold. Not only were these Soviets fighting to defend the international and intergalactic proletariat, they were also field-testing new equipment, such as the AK-47 assault rifle and MiG-17 and MiG-19 fighter jets. They got an even bigger boost to their technological capabilities when the Slain & Korpyl starfighter firm upgunned the MiGs to have blaster cannons, and when Anakin revised the submachine blaster system that he made for Chanticleer's Tommy Gun to work with the AKs. Aleksandr now wields a blaster version of the AK-47 in battle, along with demolition charges and other essential tools. Like many Cartoon men, he also grew out his pompadour to be more similar to Chanticleer's.

Aleksandr would father a son after the war, Gennady, who would go on to become a successful electronic musician in the 80's.
