I feel more pity for her. It seems to me she was brought up in such an environment; the emotional and mental manipulation in such groups is a heck of a thing to overcome. It usually takes a good mental smack to change.
Like Lynette Fromme and Sandra Good of the Manson Family. Even decades after the murders, they STILL defended Manson and professed his 'goodness', when others in the family (eventually) realized what a POS he was.
Or how about all the loyalists to Jim Jones? So many of them not only poisoned themselves, but did their best to poison the folks who didn't WANT to die. Including around 100 kids....

Granted, I've already read the entire current comic on the main site, so I know what's coming. But I think something that a lot of people might not be thinking about is this; why is Eliza so hard core on this? Maybe consider that, as a child, she herself was thoroughly brainwashed into this religious bullshit so much that its hard-coded in her brain. I'm not saying that's what's going on here as there's a multitude of other possibilities, but it's a fair bet.
"But when you're an adult, you can think for yourself and make your own choices!"
That's true, but a *little* trickier for those that have been indoctrinated into something for their entire life.
Just give it a bit of time to catch the upcoming pages and you might see an interesting development or two. Or, ya know, just go read the whole thing on Rick's main site now instead of waiting. Or better, order the books if (like me) you're the type that likes to collect hard copies.
