Well I'm going to be working on a steampunk novel, so I'm putting some friends in it, making it truly epic.
Ricyn agreed to be one of the characters!

That sounds like a rather cool idea and with results like this it really holds promising for your novel!
Really nice work on this one. You definately captured the samurai look quite well while integrating the steampunk genre almost perfectly. You did a good job using the main aspects of both and mixing them well together so that both are dominant and not silenced by the other. Amazing work on that robotic arm and getting all of the finer details in it. Seeing all the wires and underparts beneath the main metallic sheets is really nice to see included, but also showing the power of that arm was nicely played as well. Good work with also having his fur fluff out where armor is not covering for that extra sense of realism and to show some life to his fur and that he isn't just flat or slick on the body. The muscle tones look properly shaped and spaced too on his torso.
The details of his clothes is nicely designed too. Seeing the patches and frays at the bottom of the hakama skirt shows depth to his past and that he has seen his shares of battles, and not just from the obvious ones like the scars or the injury of his eye. The sword has a cool design too and nice choice of green to give it. Not too deep to make it look odd, but not too faded to be obscure. The hilts too are properly placed to match how the given swords would be drawn. It gets annoying seeing things like that not being done right, but is refreshing like in this case when they match up properly :)
One small detail though is his head seems a bit off center from how his neck is positioned. It looks a bit too the left from the viewer's point of view, to me though.
Very nice job on this man and hope your novel becomes successful!

excuse me but i see little to no steam punk in this picture the metals are to modern the arm has no exhaust ports for the build up of steam that wouldent work, i see no copper or brass nither do isee cogs or gears, i do see water involved but that again has no visible supply perhaps the artis is confusing cyber and steam punk?
steampunk doesnt have to have all the typical stuff.
It runs on aether, meaning it needs no steam buildup since it works like a battery almost, (a magical one to be precise), uses gears (covered by metal plating), and I didn't feel like using copper in this one as the japanese used steel & leather in their armor designs, and copper went more in the way of just the decorative way in their art & display weapons.
Plus, the wires you see are actually thin tubes carrying the aether to the weapons & powering the arm.
Overall, I went with a very simplistic version of steampunk, as you don't need a ton of detailing to classify it.
It's fantasy, not made to be functional in real life, as art bends the laws of realities
