The United States Department of Energy got quite a surprise when Higgs Pennson asked to be transferred from the Idaho National Laboratory to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Pennson was one of their foremost researchers in nuclear energy, with years and years of experience under his belt.
Why was he asking to work in renewable energies? It was a completely different field.
But once Higgs explained that he had a theory on a new, revolutionary hybrid energy source based on nuclear and renewable energies, and needed to acquire knowledge and experience in the latter, they greenlighted the transfer.
The opossum exulted at this new step towards what he was sure would be his magnum opus.
And now, years later, said magnum opus is almost completed...
There we are, folks. My very first commission of my interpretation of Higgs the Megapossum, the OC I received from Penn when he gave all his OCs to adoption before completely going off the radar.
I hope I'll make him justice.

ANY kind of energy feeds Artyom's growth inducing nanomachines. Nuclear residues are just one of the most potents for this

You forget that all Titans also don't damage anything if they don't want to, so there's no risk.
Also, at this point, it's been months since the titans appeared and began helping with various things like rescue efforts and disaster relief, they're known as gentle giants, so people won't be afraid or intimidated.
And besides, outgrowing the planet all by itself still counts as passive show off of power
