Gigant (Giganto) was the 16th Dark Horror Robot Kaiju that was the Monster of the week in the 12th Episode of the Dino Mech Gaiking Anime, "Respond, Midori!".

_Appearance and Abilities_
Giganto was a quadruped Robot, a mixture of insectoid and lizard in its appearance, with a yellow body and a purple top, magenta legs with black dots and black color feet, and a long black tail with a triangular tip; its head was white and pink with lavender jaws, the lower been extended, with a purple "v" shape strap running across the face and sport two antennas on the top of the head. A cockpit was located in the monster's head.

Besides the two turrets next to its head – which serve no purpose – Giganto could fired fireball projectiles from the mouth, the tip of its tail was powerful enough to actually do damage to weak points in the Gaiking, as well was capable of flight.

Giganto was the first Kaiju to be piloted by a non Zelan; a brainwashed Midori.

As groups of Mountain Climbers are killed in the Japanese Alps – unbeknownst to many at the hands of the Zelan Daimojin sends Midori to make an investigation of the area suspecting indeed Zelans, and Sanshiro tags along with her without her knowing on the Mini X-1. After much teasing from her to the latter with her "Top Maverick" flying skills, the duo arrives to the Japanese Alps, having been spotted by the enemy under the command of Dark Knight Gylar who had expected them and carrying the next phase of their plan.

As Sanshiro gives Midori an early Birthday gift and proceed with their investigation on the destroyed cabin, the two come under attack by the Dark Avians Corps; Sanshiro fends off the villains while Midori calls for help to Team Daiku Maryu, but her signal is cut short as The Pod fires onto the Mini X-1 Jet destroying it and goes after Midori who gets captured by a tractor beam just as she fell from a cliff. The pod then turns around around and fires at Sanshiro, but only knocking him out , as the Daiku Maryu flies to the Alps to help, Midori is taken to General Asimov's ship for brainwashing.

Later Fan Li finds Sanshiro who tells him what unfolded, with the latter accepting responsibility and the two fly back to the Daiku Maryu to report of Midori's fate as the Asimov launches the Dark Horror Robot Kaiju Giganto to confront the heroes as they discuss the situation when the enemy alarm sound off: as the ship enters into combat, Giganto fires at the Daiku Maryu with fire Projectiles causing damage to it in the weak points of it, as if the enemy knows their secrets; as they briefly shut it down, Gaiking is then launched to face the Monster, and as soon its assemble for combat to fire Counter Punch, the Monster strikes first by severing the right arm after blocking Hydro Blazer and avoiding Saur Geyser, the monster rips Gaiking's left horn and hits it with the tip of the tail in the abdomen, knocking off balance and crashing into the ground, showing it knows Gaiking's weak spots.

In that moment, the head of the monster splits up to show the cockpit; its pilot been non other than Midori, now brainwashed in service of the Zelans. Sanshiro avoids her as she attacks and attempts to escape, but its shutdown again when one of the wings is blown off.

Rejecting assistance from the others, Sanshiro tries rescue Midori – Sakon interjects and informs him there is a Micro-receiver in the pendant for communication; Sanshiro then contacts Midori and makes her look at the pendant and makes her remember. Realizing something's up, Asimov orders Giganto be destroy along with Gaiking; as the self destruct is trigger, Midori, now back to her senses, pushes Gaiking away as the explosives on the monster go off, but Sanshiro acting fast, uses Counter Cross to decapitate the Monster's Cockpit Head, thus saving Midori.

After the battle and returning home, Daimojin commends Sakon for the receiver in the pendant, while Midori is resting in her quarters with gifts from the crew, but holding most to Sanshiro's pendant.
