I saw the artist's theme for inktober, and I thought: "well, some clocks use quartz resonators to keep track of time"; so that's where the watchmaker idea comes from. Let's ignore the practicality of actually fabricating an accurate crystal resonators by cutting a natural quartz cluster manually.
