After being invited to stay at a special resort by some of his friends, Benjamin finally decided to give in and enjoy himself a bit. He put on his bathrobe and took the open invitation to visit one of the spas at the resort. Past experiences had taught him enough to know enough what they meant when they offered him a 'Deluxe' session and, although he'd never admit it to his friends, it was one of the experiences that he was looking forward to the most...
So, this one started from a friend asking to see Ben in a bathrobe, and once I drew it up and saw his cute thick footpaws sticking out from under the robe, I just couldn't help myself. I don't often fully indulge myself when drawing and finishing tickly art, so it felt very good to just lay into this piece and give it my best while also working on some of my favorite feet among my cast.
I'm still working on my shading and lighting techniques, and I think I'm finally starting to get a feel for how I like this painterly style to look compared to my more cel-shaded works. Even so, I'm still learning a ton and making mistakes along the way. I enjoy this piece, but goodness if I wasn't tired of working on the shading by the end.
Also, yes, those are Jael's hands, and Ben is indeed getting the best treatment possible at F&F ;)
