An ambitious commission for HallowedScales
We were very excited about this illustration. Such a dramatic scene in our favorite genre, happy with the result <3
Btw, we made another artwork for Hallow some time ago. If you still haven't seen this piece, check it out: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/41179576/

This right here is why so many artists default to using as little foreshortening in their work as possible and why most art especially in the furry fandom looks flat af.
Even with masterful skills like Wildering has (I can't think of another artist off the top of my head whose construction is better and more dynamic than Wildering's), people will say this kind of shit about it.
It's given me a complex for sure; any time I try to work with foreshortening and perspective in my work, it's guaranteed to get a comment like this about looking "off" even if I spend time and care working out the perspective. EVEN if I'm working directly from a real life reference. It's a very difficult thing to master.
Observe foreshortening in the real world some time and take notice of how wonky and weird things can look from different angles. Look in the mirror at yourself. Pose in all kinds of ways and imagine how it would look in art. It's just realism. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this lol

Even while I can't see anything wrong with character legs out there, I don't think it's something wrong with comments like that one as well. It's a section available for everyone to express their thoughts and emotions whatever they are (if it doesn't violate website's rules, of course). Even if in a worst case someone's perception really and undoubtedly wrong, why people tend to take it as criticism and so close to heart?
Better turn off comments section at all if the preference is "post only laudatory comments, don't even hint a critique or that's something wrong with my picture".

I see what you're saying. I wouldn't have cared at all if it wasn't about the perspective/foreshortening, that came from an artist who's a master with it. Just hit a personal nerve of mine.
Also while on the topic I think leaving a comment that's just pure criticism for the sake of it surrounded by no other useful input is disrespectful and stupid.
If one's going to critique unprompted, make it useful, encompassing the piece as a whole, and not condescending. Otherwise you're just making yourself look like a living Average Redditor meme and are asking to be laughed at

I would say all these ambitions were paid off quite well
And again the characters in your style look so elegant and nice it is impossible to not like them from the first glance
Simply love the dramatism and sheer emotions like one character don't want other one to go alone... like it feels that it might be the last time they will ever can see each other
Amazing art!

Hey, Dear Wildering! Wonderful Amazing Fantastic work - it's like radiates its rainy atmosphere from here, must admit!
But as for me (I'm not sure) in colors it maybe have other feelings and looks too, I guess. I mean, as for me, such colors style like everything in grey make me some kind like sad (or giving the feeling of sadness) - again maybe its just for me.
And interesting: I really hope that there is no so very-very sad story or background is before it, am I right? ^_~

                    I Love A Rainy Night-Eddie Rabbitt
comes to mind, and am I wrong to believe that the genre is a post apocalyptic setting as it looks like a vault dweller attire? could be completely off my rocker though as it isn't colored to tell, but emotional setting is quite lovely even if the scenery may not be. Having someone with you is definitely an emotional booster to any setting and genre <3

It is post-apocalyptic! Not Fallout-related, I just like putting my androids in standard black jumpsuits :)
