Solid, in a war-diary style. I've never been a fan of people going into specifics with gun models and the like, though: just tell the reader it's a pistol, a sub-machine gun, a rifle, etc. Going to the detail of the proper name of a gun only carries meaning for enthusiasts; to those who don't know a lot about weaponry it just sounds like jargon, and doesn't tell them much of anything about what the characters actually carry unless they want to stop and look it up--which is never what you want a reader to do. Not to mention whatever guns you've named wouldn't fit in with the futuristic time period.

But Carnoc is appropriately suspicious and blunt and disliking any intruder, and it's competently done. Cool stuff. ^^

Regarding including the names of the guns, I've been playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 recently, and felt that including the names would add a greater sense of seriousness, but I guess I got carried away. And your right, really its just wasted words.

As for Carnoc, well I've been reading your story up to now, and there's been plenty of examples of his attitude, so I'm glad that I got it right.
