Uh. So the idea is that it is the spirit of a dog that died of starvation, but the ritual binds the spirit to the body and creates the Angmain.
The ritual killing method produces a more powerful angmain but has a greater chance of the angmain remembering how it died and killing its creator.
The binding ritual produces a weaker, more docile angmain that will almost certainly not remember how it died, and can therefore be used more effectively.
