A double feature this time when it comes to science. On the one hand we have the principal of diffusion taking place. A small amount of solute placed in a solvent will eventually spread out as it approaches a uniform concentration. Even though the individual motion of molecules may be down or up the concentration gradient the statistical inevitability is for an equilibrium where the solute is evenly dispersed.

The other feature here is the fluorescence of the aptly named Fluorescein. It absorbs light at 494 nm becomes excited and emits light at 521 nm.
