River Hunter Clan/ Music Horn - C'halani U-phondo sheet
The River Hunter Clan has many types of communication instruments such as whistles,drums, roars but the most memorial is the Music Horn / C'halani U-phondo .
The C'halani U-phondo is made out of various animal horns, each producing a different tune and sound. Used on a daily routine is a wonderful instrument!
Sounds :
On Earth record it sounds similar to a Kudu horn
• First call : arrivals of warriors or hunters
• Second call : warnings
• Third call : communication beware guards in the perimeter of the Clan's village gates
Used in celebrations and battles the C'halani U-phondo can be highly decorated based on the individual who uses it, either with feathers, symbols, beads and paint even updated for tune pitching.
Tunes :
The varieties produce different pitches and sounds, either heavier or lighter depending on the horns thickness or how twisted it is
Structure:
In the mouth of the horn is a special wooden piece , square with four holes for each Fang and two in the middle for the inner mouth teeth. This Structure changes the pitches and tunes .
Facts:
• The Jungle Hunter Clan calls it N'jauka C'phondo meaning " Welcoming Horn "
• The sound can be heard from than a mile away
• Only 3 clans have a music horn : the Jungle Hunter Clan, the Widow Clan and the River Hunter Clan and some small Clans in the Southern part of the continent.
• The horns are usually from Tekuantins
