Away Game 1/23/11 SAS @ GAL: Locker Room Shenanigans
Scores and capsule taken from
buckhopper's journal:
SAS @ GAL: L Spectrums (17-17) 75, W Sand Dollars (17-16) 87
SAS | 15 16 29 15 | L 75
@GAL | 23 20 21 23 | W 87
Lance Cheval (Stallion, C) arrived to the game late and was basically ineffective during the game, appearing distracted and lazy on the court. During halftime, he told a reporter he felt traumatized since Brandon Hess (Clydesdale Horse, C, TEN) broke his leg in a game on Wednesday, January 19th. Cheval was guarding Hess at the time of his accident and witnessed the bone break first-hand.
A team representative who asked not to be named said that Cheval had originally called head coach Jackson Price (Fisher) before the game to tell him he was too emotionally distraught to play and would not appear at the game. Price then tore into him over the phone, demanding he get to the GO! House.
---
After what's truly a terribly disappointing game, Spectrums head coach Jackson Price lets loose on his team for the first time in a while, and things really come to a head!
Though no one is expecting what happens after that!

Awesome writeup, Mitch! And funny, funny story! The image of Karre staring slack-jawed at a crowd of naked Spectrums players writhing around on the shower floor is laugh-out-loud hilarious. And I loved the connections you made between Cheval's previous time with the Thrust and N'duk. Lots of great stuff in this story.
