The 10th house of the Zodiac, Capricorn the Goat, was always a mystery to me, resting in the back of the calendar year as it does. When running through my assortment of weaponry, I found that the lance best fit the sea-faring goat (even though I don't depict any kind of sea-faring here); Capricorn is the astrological symbol of leader, though not so much rule, but more like a general. If the sword is the symbol of a king, then the lance must be the symbol of the general.
Capricorn is sometimes depicted as a satyr, those horny goat-men from Greek Mythos, and so that's what I was aiming for with this design (you'll notice the lack of obvious hair on the torso, and maybe that goat-like face is actually a mask, hmm?). I was aiming for a more elegant goat design than the can-chewing farm-dwellers we know them as, so maybe something closer to the mid-Eastern Bezoar.
The part of the body ruled by Capricorn is, as emphasized by his stance, the joints, with special attention to the knees.

I have to agree, that is an amazingly eye-dropping, difficult pose that you pulled off with flair, especially for someone who claims to still need to learn a lot about art. I love how balanced the picture is, both literally and artistically, with the raised leg (and handle of the lance) mirroring the blade of the lance. And now that you mention it, I do see how mask-like the goat face is.
Go you for not being the typical can-chewing goat (though if he'd looked anything like Jeff from ISO I wouldn't have complained ;) ). And I don't care what you say, you put a lot of thought into these. The intelligence and knowledge you display is awesome, something we need a lot more of around here.

I still have much to learn about art, ol' chum: refinement. Here we have a crude representation of something that pales in comparison to any linework that's been given such fine attention and detail; much like an axe compared to a rapier. I am, however, with my skill in refinement, as you've pointed out, the point symmetry of lowered spearhead and risen knee.
Thanks for the kind words, bro. :3

Ha, yay my sign (I think, I don't even know if my birthday still falls in Capricorn since they finally added Ophiuchus, either way still my favourite astrological sign).
I really love how graceful the pose is, there's a subtle beauty in the character, the thin back and the beard, ears and horns sort of reminded me a bit of Baphomet, though his abdomen isn't missing, and he doesn't have breast or wings (... Damn it I could go for some chicken right now...) :P
All around this is a very interesting piece, the motion of the hands with the Lance definitely emphasizes the joints in his hands, as Lances and all them pole-weapons are crazy on how well one's hand can bend, the loincloth's motion is done wonderfully, too, and I like how his weapons is detailed, but not over-detailed, a very pleasant happy medium. The eyes seem a bit crooked, but that could actually be a good thing with the possibility of it being a mask, so very awesome job, bud! These have been getting better and better since the beginning, keep up the great work :3

The way I see it, you've been Capricorn all your life, and if anyone says otherwise just because the Zodiac decides to move around, I say bollocks. As an aside, I'm giddy to know I'm still Leo. x3
I'm not really sure why I wanted such a dancer's stance with Capricorn, I intended to draw this horned lancer reclined on a throne, legs crossed and knees emphasized, but I didn't like how it looked. Chicken is delicious, I had some the other night, and I'm not a fan of chicken.
Thanks, Spoon-person, your approval of this piece lifts my heart, because it's by your influence I drew it. :3

Uh... <_<... Under the influence of ME? Um...
Dude, I wouldn't go around saying that to people, especially cops while driving, they'll arrest you and you'll never get out again >_>...
:P, I think this way seems a lot better actually, the dancer'esque appeal fits better, especially for a Goat (Even though all Goats actually do is eat and eat and eat and eat and eat and scare the shit out of people by staring into their very souls with those rectangular pupils), so, good show sire, good show!
