What? It's a boring page. I wanna see more of the doggy, but the story has to take priority! Uuuugh..... BUT! No complaining about it. Okay? I could have easily extended it to four or five pages of nothing but the first three panels... You're welcome.

Okay, for real though, part of the problem here was that I did envision this scene going a tad differently where the big guy would claim "bananas", but "Bananas" was so.... Generic and predictable.
Also, as a result, I also had to change the actual response that will be made on the next page from Alex saying what his own underpants are patterned with to... what the response is going to be revealed next week. I still find that version HI-Larious, but just wouldn't work for this particular version of Alex. This version, he's less "Scaredy Cat" and more "Anxious".... realistically anxious, mind you.
