A little history: this holiday was invented in 2008 by a nine-year-old Canadian girl, Cassidy Megan. The girl was diagnosed with epilepsy. Because of her special treatment, she wanted the world to understand that people with epilepsy are just like everyone else. Since then, there have been themed events around the world on this day. People decorate their clothes with purple ribbons or wear entirely purple clothes to support those who suffer from this disease.
